Made tons of progess this weekend. Made pieces so that my 79 seat brackets bolt up to my 90 Suburban captain seats. Then I was able to insulate my sidewalls and got them installed. Put my patch panels in the floorboard, and cut insulation to fit the front of it. I also just to see how it looks put my light bar on. All my pics are in this gallery. Thanks

quick ? what's the purpose of a twin sticked 203?
I understand twin sticked D300 and I have a twinsticked 205 behind a 203.This allows seperate front/rear engagement for various digs etc.
I just need to be enlightened.

I do not know what to say about the other site except it was announce there is discrimination against me. I do not understand how me posting pics of a model of my fullsize vehicle can be so offensive to them and them just doing stuff with no appoligy. I am mocking because I have a disabilty that prevents me from typing well. I have gotten better.
The Blazer still has a few areas it needs some help. i am sending my tach off so it can be repaired the pic is its replacment for now. I have enjoyed building the whole thing so far just dissapointed in the things I am not able to fix right now. i also made the switch plate for my horn windshield washer and electric fans

Not much progress. I have been doing alot maintence and mods to my Jetta.I was able to some things. I broke my switch plate I had on my dash. I am having random bolts missing around my house. These little annoiences are being a real pain. I have also been cleaning up parts to use on some upcomming projects. It is funny to have almost all the parts for a bunch of projects, but missing a few to prevent the green light to go. I am hoping to get alot of parts this weekend.
Tailgate conversion Project:
I have a cool plan for my tailgate conversion in the works. Found a nice tailgate form a local junk yard but do not know the price.
Ebrake conversion Project:
Trying to get the last few little parts to do my eldorado brake conversion.
Hummer Wheel Project:
Working on my spacing issues to run my hummer wheels and tires. Lug nut sizes have been a pain in my but with my front lugs one size, my rear axle another size, and my lug nuts for the wheels are another size. I also have to get 2 more sets of rubber runflats 1 more to complete a set of 4 and another for the spare. Probably going to run dually hubs up front with spacers in the rear.
Drivertain Project:
Got the parts lined up just need to buy them and modify and rebuild them to use them. Money is tight. Many can relate on these bigger projects
Onboard Air Project:
I have some good connection to make this happen but it is not a nesscary at this time but will make for a good Tech Write up when I am done.
Thats all for now. Keep yall updated.

Looks like I will be on here alot more do not know what to say, but here I am. I do not know what I want, but I want something I can fit comfortably in. So no offense the Samis and regular cab yotas are out. I am not wanting a wrangler style jeep, and would not mind a good cherokee if they had frames instead of unit bodies. I would like an s10 blazer on a k5 platform but thats to hard to find and I do not have the resources to build my own. I will post this in the for sale section soon. What years did the cheorkees have frames? I thought all of little cheorkees had unit bod thats why there was no body lifts for them?
Ah yes, FSJ 101.....
The Cherokee was first built in '74, simply a 2 door version of the original Wagoneer that first hit the market in '63. From '74 to '83, Cherokees had full frames, V8 engines, and lots of room inside. These are known as Full Size Jeeps or FSJ's. The two-letter designation for them (like CJ, TJ, YJ, etc) is SJ, and while it really isn't known why Jeep chose those 2 letters, common belief among FSJ enthusiasts is the SJ stands for "Super Jeep". Full size Jeeps include '63-'87 "J" trucks (also called Gladiators, J-10, J-20, etc), '63-'83 Wagoneers, '74-'83 Cherokees, and '84-'91 Grand Wagoneers. You may often hear parts from these Wagoneers (or Grand Wagoneers) referred to as "Waggy".
In '84, under pressure from their parent company (and market pressure for better fuel economy), Jeep discontinued the fully framed SJ Cherokee and built the AMC-designed unibody XJ Cherokee instead. The XJ body style was produced from 1984-2002, at which time it was discontinued & replaced with the KJ Liberty. The XJ is still produced in China and sold overseas, but not in the USA.

Yeah I know about the old Cheorkees are great. i was impressed watching Trucks! I thought you was talking about the XJ. So I was right they were all unit body. Thanks for the history lesson.
I wonder if a amigo could be put on a wrangler frame and drive train that way it would have solid axles. Just an idea

I've got a 78 Bronco which is very wide and I customize the sheet metal every time I go out. I think I'm going to cut off every thing other than the floor and firewall and then custom make fenders, hood, plexiglass windshield, and a cage.
You might want to consider doing the same.
Another good project is an 66 to 77 Bronco. They have a full frame, solid axles, V8, and they are narrow.

Dont remind me of the early broncos i miss mine but they are expensive to restore and maintain and everyone want a ton for them. As far as the custom body be nice but I can not weld.
Here is my little firetruck. I am still a member of classic broncos

I've got several and paid less than 2k for most of them. If you fix it up like you did the K5 instead of show truck style they aren't bad at all to maintain or repair.

I did not mean to say maintain as much as restore because most are shoot or super nice can not find many the are average.

I have been thinking long and hard it seems that Optimus is going to be in my hands for long time. I have been busy with my DD and fixing a blown turbo on it. Soon I will be back at the Blazer. I was able to drive it in 4wd and test the twin sticks for the 1st time. it is was a good feeling to see that thing climb. I hope to post a vid soon of how tight it turns.
I am going to try to get my buddy to fix a bunch of the little things so I can focus on my jetta it also gives him a job. But it does bring me to this point. What should I do with my drivetrain set up. It has a TH350 and twin stick 203. The 350 is leaking at the rear seal. I am kinda leaning to a 700r4 and 205 twin stick and eventually doubler transfercase. I have a205 siting at the house that has been rebuilt and painted ready to go. Or should I go to the TH400 set up many have talked about them and say I should do that and be done with it. i do not know how well it will mate up with the 203 or 205 but I am curious. I tried to find my old thread where I talked about this but no luck thanks for your time

Neither the 203 or 205 you have will work with a 400.They are 32spline and the cases you have will be 27 spline.Reseal the trans and put some miles on it.If you dont like the 203 pull it and put your 205 in.As long as you have the adapter/sleeve it will be a bolt in deal.

Wow it has been a long time since I updated this build. I have all kinds of set backs.
Lets start from the gorund and work our way up. bought a bunch of runflats sold many trying to find just a beadlock to cut down on weight. Well a screaming deal on some 2 piece runflats came my way and I got them. My fience and I put them in. not to much problem and I am proud of her hard work.

I got 2 new electric door cheaper than buying the parts needed to fix mine. Taped them up and got them painted to match. Soon to have the wiring done so that everything works. GM kept the same wires but changed all the plugs so it is just time to swap it over.

Took the K5 tailgate off. Finish sanding and painting up a nice tailgate and installed it. While doing that I had to make me a new rear glass with some plexiglass. a pain in the butt, it was a learning experience.

Took the front and rear bumper off trying to swap on a CUCV set up. Not working out to well the frnt frame is to short and not lining up to mount. The rear is going to have some of the same problems.

Took the grill off cleaned it up and going to install it once I get the bumpers figured out.

Sent my tach off to autometer for repair. i must say they are awesome. it only had asmall problem but they sent me a new tach no problem. I have not installed it. I did get all my other gauges hooked up and working. My speedo has a problem with the needle bouncing. i will probally have to get it sent out for repair.
I was able to fix the steering column and the horn works.
I also got the windhsield washer set up installed. mine was completely missing.
The seat post stiffieners are done and painted waiting to be installed.
All I got now is to mount my rims and get my spacer to put them on the truck. I need to get some fender triming done. Then I got a bunch of little stuff to do as well. I acquired a nice 700r4 to do that swap in the near future as well. Made alot of progress and got some more to go.

Speedo needle bouncing is generally the cable and not the guage.

I thought that but the cable is new and relubed and checked for kinks. I was told that maybe one of the teeth of the gear could be broke. I might buy another cable. Thanks for the advice.

Thanks. i got alot more done. i have all the doors in but the electric windows do not work, so I am at the same point as taking the old ones off. the only difference is the window motors for the newer doors are about $30-45 a pieace. the old ones are over $100 a piece. we did a really slick wiring set up reusing the old harness on the new door. Only had to replace the window motor plug. i also got to do some work on the body mounted door hinge they are .5" off causing my door not to sit right.
I have all the lights and exterior bolted up. Was not able to use anything from the CUCV axles which stinks. I will have to come up with something different for a brushguard and shackles.
I bolt me a soft top and plan on making a rail system so the snaps snap to it instead of drilling on the body.
I am getting rid of the hummer tire, runflats, and rims. i am going with a 16" wheel set up to make things easier. We will see how that goes. The interior is almost completely done the biggest things is fixing the radio, mounting the CB and the Tach.
I look forwad over the wintor to swap the TH350/203 set up for my 700R4/205 set up.
I will post some pics of it and of its 1st offroad trip this weekend.

It has been awhile since I posted about this thing. After going back in forth about saling it. i decided to go ahead and put the parts I have for it on the truck and see what happens.
I did find out my speedo cable was a problem when my gauge stop working and saw my cable was all messed up. My friends say I need to check the speedo gear in the t case to see if it match up right with my set up then another cable.
I have several drivetrain leaks nothing to bad but annoying. Reat Tranny seal, T case vent tube, Rear Axle seal, front axle hub. All simple but a pain in the rear. After I get this done I want to add a tranny temp gauge and aux cooler with the factory one. I am not sure what one to go with? What size and brand.
I still have to get the Pass. Door align which I do not understand why it is so horribly off. i did not change the hinge location when I swap doors and driver side is perfect but the pass is about .5" out of wack all the way around.
I am in the process of getting the XJ steering shaft mod and frame stiffeners added.
Did make some head way after chasing electrical ghost I know have to completely working door with electric windows and locks. It was royal pain to fix stuff GM design stupidly. I have the dash tore down so I am going to take this time to clean up the wiring one component at a time. I have found some random plugs and wires and have no clue what they plug into it will be fun http://www.wheelindixie.com/forums/images/smilies/dixie/10_1_108.gif I will post some pics tomorrow.

I think I like to try to get my Blazer to look like this. i know it is very crude but It is all I got to work with. I Like to get a factory spare tire carrier or a custom rear bumper and mount a swing arm for fuel and water can. The tire will be inside. Either that or a stinger style rear tire carrier with side mount fuel and water cans :icon_confused: o yeah the big black square in the top is for a slim fit storage locker only about 6" deep. The Hi lift will be mounted on the slant on the top (not pictured on the other side) Just some ideas tell me what you think or suggestions I appreciate it. 9Oh yeah probably will be a solid color and not the digital camo)
