Calliente -Mtn city July 3

Going to calliente in Mountain City July 3rd. Plan to meet at the campground 9:30-10:00. I will be in a mostly stock TJ so plan to just explore some of the easy trails.

We are camping @ Rock Creek in Erwin for the week end & following week. Would love to come & bring my 6 year old boy cause he's fallen in love with off roading but my trail rig is in about 20 or so parts in the garage & don't know if I'll have it back together by then or not.

That's the reason I'm in a jeep instead of the buggy. Thanks for the spelling. I knew I was wrong in some way. I'll try to remember the extra a's.

I've got it worked out and plan to be at the campground, but will have to leave around 2ish. I'll ride whatever we can get in by 2.

We aren't going to make it to Rock Creek until the 5th now due to work. My rig is almost back together though but still won't be quiet done due to work also. Man I need to retire to have time for my hobbies!! LOL

I am sure that my trailer will be safe sitting unattended there won't it? I saw on the news where there is a rash of trailer thefts in the area.

Yes I am going. I reccomend a pad lock on your trailer. There is some security there, but better safe than sorry.

It was a good ride. It was a little short. We didn't get started until 11 and left at 3. We did welder with bypass of the waterfall and step. Progress was slow due to a girl on an ATV in our group, but everyone did well.

It was a fun trip. Thanks for setting it up Gubni. Definately a scaled up stoney creek. Now that I've seen some of it, I will be going back. Just never could make any of the many other callantee trips until yesterday.

August 7th is the Toy Run. Bring a new toy and ride free. All toys go to needy kids in Mountain City. This is a great event.

Yeah i was reading about it on another site. Sounds like a nice event to attend. But id like to make a trip up there before that as well.

Unless things change I will be out of town the next two weekends and the 7th is in question, but plans do change at times so there is always a maybe.

where abouts in mtn city is that located? i remember some what about where the court house is but thats about it if i go ill be going through stoney creek & up through shady valley that way.

Go to elizabethton. Make a right on 19. Make a left by the mcdonalds and go through hampton. After an hour you will end up in mountain city.

ah ok so go around by watauga lake that way like ur going to go to boone but instead of taking a right turn stay on the main road and it will bring u straight into mountain city?

Yes, that's how to get to mtn city. Go I think three stop lights and make a left when you see advance auto or autozone. Go a couple miles and turn right onto furnace creek rd at the ATV sign. Lots of trails for stock trucks.
