I don't think buggies are legal at Lil Stoney.

well...Scott Cairnes of the U.S. forest service says NO to Bumpus and Little Stoney...it has to be street legal, tagged and insured!

Any designated forest road (FR) in the Cherokee Nat'l Forest requires street legal. Only the "old road" at Bumpus (cul-de-sac- to lunch spot & trenches) is non designated as an FR. All other Bumpus trails ("new road" and Rich Mtn) are FR190 and subs. See the trail thread for maps/GPS. The "old road" is technically on state, not federal property.

Stoney (FR202) is entirely FR designated. Trail thread also available.
